About Pollen

Located in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood, Pollen is a boutique floral design studio specializing in the use of locally sourced and sustainably grown flowers for weddings and special events. Pollen’s work is eco-conscious, striving to work with the seasons the Midwest offers, resulting in timely pieces and floral designs that work in harmony with the season.

Pollen’s Core Philosophy

It’s simple: Pollen passionately expresses each client’s unique vision while offering the most sustainable flower options possible.

Pollen’s Founder, Lynn Fosbender

Lynn Fosbender founded Pollen in 2009 with the mission of bringing her vision of sustainable, eco-conscious flowers to consumers who share her passion. Pollen is a culmination of Lynn’s never-ending pleasure in providing beautiful design with an eye toward sustainability.
With experience in habitat conservation and over a decade in the floral industry, Pollen brings together Lynn’s passion for nature and design. Lynn studied both horticulture and restoration ecology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she also acted as teaching assistant for floral design classes during her graduate studies.
Community involvement has always been a priority for Lynn, who has served with AmeriCorps*VISTA, volunteered as a tour guide for the Chicago Architecture Foundation, is an active member of the Society for Urban Nature (the auxiliary board of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum), and most recently co-founded the Chicago Green Wedding Alliance. Through Pollen, Lynn furthers her commitment to giving back to the community by supporting various community-based organizations.
