Happy anniversary to Jackie and Michael! Their gorgeous wedding at Bridgport Art Center’s Skyline Loft included some of my favorite winter blooms. Hanoi ranunculus are a huge, petal-packed variety of ranunculus that I look forward to every winter. I’m also a huge fan of viburnum tinus, which is the cluster of tiny mauve flower buds seen throughout the wedding. The white, blush, and mauve blooms beautifully complemented the dusty rose bridesmaids’ dresses. For the ceremony, we created a hanging installation to float over the ceremony area, then when the room was transitioned to the dinner reception by Beyond Events, the wedding party’s feasting table was placed in front of the installation, with the bride and groom sitting under the floating garland. Another favorite element, much to my surprise, was the candle centerpieces. We created floral arrangements for half the tables and for the other half of the tables, a cluster of pillar candles of varying heights, surrounded by smilax foliage. I generally get more excited about flowers than candles, but the candle centerpieces were so lovely on a winter night! Big thanks to Samantha from Shannon Gail for keeping everything moving smoothly throughout the day and into the night!
